A cultural critique of the central role of computation in visual culture, this work tries to enquire into the notion of the algorithm and its emergence as a medium, and further advances a methodology to critically approach it.

This is a Master dissertation, and it was presented to the Critical and Historical Studies school of the Royal College of Art in 2014.
